FAQ'S
Have a question you don't see answered here? Just ask!
-
Is it true that the hair on the chews is good for dogs?Yes! It actually offers many benefits, including aiding digestion, providing fiber and manganese, and even assisting with mental stimulation and enrichment!
-
Do all of the treats you carry have hair on them?Yes! Unless otherwise noted, or requested, all treats will have their naturally occurring hair. This allows your pup(s) to enjoy all of the extra physical and mental benefits it provides!
-
Some of these treats are HUGE! Do I need to cut them up to give to my dog?Absolutely not! The chews will break down at an appropriate rate as your dog munches on them. They are just as you would find them in nature, and nature knows what its doing!
-
I left my dog's chew out in the rain! Is it ruined? Not at all! The chews can be left outside 24/7, if you'd like. If they get wet, they are likely to change shape some, they can wrinkle as they dry or fold over if they were leaned against something. Our suggestion is simply to straighten it out and let it air dry. If it wrinkles, this can actually provide additional stimulation for your pup, as it becomes a puzzle! If is too wrinkled for enjoyment, just let it soak in water for an hour and straighten it out. You can also place weights, like rocks, on the ends to help keep it straight as it dries. Just make sure that both sides get time to dry!

How are your treats different from commercial rawhide?Commercial rawhide is just the leftovers after the fur side of the hide is separated from the inside of the hide, in order to make leather products. This separation is a big part of what makes commercial rawhide dangerous. Whole hide treats, like we make, can only be consumed at a certain pace due to the multiple layers, hair, and the natural state of the hide. This allows for proper digestion, and helps prevent the overeating that commercial rawhide does not.
